Paul’s composing skills and Phil’s lyrical talent in the year 2008 made what you know today as The Sixpounder. The sound of our band was branded by the fans themselves though and it is supposed to be somewhat of a „mixture of rock and roll and metal”. What it basically means is that it is likeable even by people who openly admit to dislike heavy music. For us, as band members, it has always been the same – giving the best that we have got either on or off stage!
The Sixpounder was always about thinking out of the box as much as possible and interestingly enough we have won many rock competitions! Our music was appreciated by both the jury and the fans and it seems pretty rewarding for a metal band, right? :)
In 2010 we have won the Wacken Metal Battle polish eliminations and that gave us the opportunity to perform on the most prestigeous metal festival – Wacken Open Air 2010. It was also the first time we had a chance to perform in front of an international audience.
We are very proud of our debut album „Going To Hell? Permission Granted!” and we hope to see you guys soon at your place!
